A TEACHER who has enriched the lives of hundreds of Lepton children has retired.

Foundation teacher Julia Lambert worked originally at the former Lepton County School and returned to the new school – Rowley Lane Junior, Infant and Nursery – in 1987, after having her own children.

During the early 1980s she was also a prominent worker at Cowmes playgroup in Lascelles Hall.

Headteacher Carol Martin, said parents, children and staff described Mrs Lambert as a “magical teacher”.

“Many parents say they wish we could bottle her – such is her expertise.”

The school staged a surprise This Is Your Life for Mrs Lambert, inviting her husband, Keith, and daughter from Amsterdam.

Mrs Lambert is looking forward to leading an active retirement including spending time with her two daughters, granddaughter and second grandchild, which is due over the summer.
