A WELL-KNOWN Huddersfield singer and music teacher rescued from his blazing home is in a stable condition in hospital.
Steven Mellor, of Heathdale Avenue, Birkby - who is still in intensive care at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary - was saved by firefighters.
Mr Mellor, 49, had been due to sing in Huddersfield Gilbert and Sullivan Society's Yeomen Of The Guard production at the Lawrence Batley Theatre last night.
