A TEENAGER has appeared in court after items stolen in burglaries were allegedly found at his home.

Nirowe James, 19, of Buxton House, New Street, in Huddersfield town centre, was before Kirklees Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

He faces six charges of handling stolen goods. James denies all of the charges.

Deputy District Judge John Maxwell heard that offences dated from December 10.

James Weekes, prosecuting, said James’ home was searched by police who suspected he was responsible for a number of burglaries.

No evidence of this was found, but several goods stolen in the raids were, the prosecutor said.

The most expensive item allegedly found was a Waltham pocket watch, with an estimated value of £500 to £1,500.

Judge Maxwell said his trial would take place at Leeds Crown Court.

He will first appear in the Huddersfield court again on May 30 for a committal hearing. Unconditional bail was granted.
