A TEENAGER has been locked up for seven years after raping a woman in her home.
Farhan Wahid, 18, of Rotary Close, Batley Carr, was sent to a young offenders’ institution after admitting the charge.
He also pleaded guilty to assault and theft and was ordered to register as a sex offender.
Leeds Crown Court was told Wahid had developed “a fixation” on the woman.
Neil Clark, prosecuting, said the teenager called at the woman’s house when she was alone and attacked her.
He punched her to the floor and then throttled her until she became unconscious.
Mr Clark said Wahid dragged the woman into another room, removed her clothing and raped her, punching her again as she came round.
Yunus Valli, on behalf of Wahid, said he now regretted his behaviour.
He said he was an immature young man, but had come to terms with the offences.
Judge James Goss QC said the attack had been “devastating” for the victim, but she had been spared the ordeal of giving evidence.
