A TEENAGE boy was head-butted by a thug at Birkby.

And he was forced to hand over cash and a mobile phone.

Now Huddersfield detectives are appealing for witnesses to the robbery in Blacker Road North on July 21.

It happened at 4:45pm as the 15-year old victim boy and three friends were walking along the road.

They were approached by three men in their late teens or early twenties. One of the group started to talk to the 15-year old and then head-butted him before demanding that the boy empty his pockets.

The boy did so, handing over his wallet, which was empty.  On realising this, the suspect punched the boy and searched his pockets.

Cash and a mobile phone were stolen from the victim and the three suspects ran off leaving the victim with minor injuries.

The main suspect in the robbery was described as being Kurdish, around 6-feet tall and with short, spiky hair.  He wore tinted sunglasses and a woolly grey top.

The other two suspects were black and around 6-feet tall.  One was slim with a bald head while the second was riding a rusty, white pushbike.

Any witnesses or anyone with information are asked to contact Det Con Mick Cummings at Huddersfield CID on 01484 436665 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
