A teenager was hurt in an accident in a Calderdale quarry.

The 17-year-old had fallen while rock climbing at Heptonstall Quarry near Heptonstall village close to Hebden Bridge at around 6.30pm yesterday.

Yorkshire Ambulance Service then called in Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team to help them.

Following assessment on-scene by Yorkshire Air Ambulance paramedics and Dr Steve Rowe, the casualty was made comfortable and then taken to hospital by road ambulance for further treatment.

He was conscious and breathing throughout the rescue.
