A TEENAGER accused of threatening a man with a gun in Huddersfield is to stand trial.

The 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Kirklees Magistrates Court yesterday for a committal hearing in Youth Court.

He is accused of possession of firearm, namely a black handgun, with intent to cause another to believe unlawful violence would be used.

The court heard the charges relate to an incident on February 28 this year at Wakefield Road near to the junction of Waterloo Road.

The youth was also charged with affray and possession of an imitation firearm.

He will stand trial at Leeds Crown Court on April 22.

Magistrates remanded the youth into secure detention.
