A TEENAGER was left red-faced after getting stuck in garden railings last night. He had to be cut out by the fire service.

The 13-year-old boy was unharmed in the incident at 7.05pm on Hanby Close, Fenay Bridge.

The boy, from Waterloo, had been trying to climb the metal garden fence when he got his leg trapped between the railings.

Huddersfield Fire Station watch commander Andy Blackburn said: “His mates had been trying to pull and push him out but his leg had started to swell a bit and he was stuck.

“He was a little embarrassed because all the neighbours had come out to watch.”

Fire fighters used hydraulic spreaders to prise the bars apart.
