A 16-year-old boy was mugged by a gang in Huddersfield.

He was surrounded by a group of 10 teenagers and robbed of £50 by a knife-wielding youth in Huddersfield town centre yesterday.

Det Insp George Bardell, of Kirklees CID, said the lad and a 17-year-old woman were approached by a group of young men in the Alfred Street car park at 4.30pm.

He said: “One of the suspects produced a flick knife from his waistband and showed it to the victim and threatened to rob him and empty his bag.

“A scuffle ensured and the suspect removed cash from the victim’s pockets.

“A second suspect was involved in taking further cash.”

One of the suspects is described as a dark-skinned, Afro-Caribbean late teen, of slim build with a grey-hooded top.

The second suspect is white, 6ft tall and of slim build.

He also wore a hooded top.
