TWO teenagers and a man have been arrested on suspicion of assaulting a disabled man in Calderdale.

Police confirmed they had arrested a 17-year old at 3am on Saturday and later arrested a second 17-year old and a 21-year old.

The three, all from the Todmorden area are being held in custody at Halifax Police Station.

The victim was Mr Damian Shepherd, 42, who has cerebral palsy. He suffered extensive head and face injuries following an attack by a gang of thugs in Cornholme just before midnight on Wednesday.

He is being treated at the Royal Oldham Hospital where he remains in intensive care and on a ventilator.
