EMERGENCY services rushed to Scammonden Dam after reports of two teenagers in the water.
The alert was sounded shortly after 7pm last night and several fire engines - including a specialist water rescue unit - were sent.
But the boys aged 14 and 15 had managed to get out by the time they arrived.
They had been reported as missing from a nearby children's home.
Paramedics took them back to the home.
