SUPERMARKET chain Sainsbury's is seeking 10,000 temporary workers across all its stores.

The company, which has shops in Market Street and Shore Head in Huddersfield, is recruiting seasonal staff to help out in the busy run-up to Christmas. The company said it needed about 600 workers for its stores in Yorkshire.

The temporary staff will work at checkouts and pack bags.

Students who work at a Sainsbury's store during term time will also have the chance to move to a store closer home for the holidays.

A spokeswoman said: "Christmas is a really hectic time. By recruiting 10,000 extra colleagues we hope to take some of the stress out of Christmas."
