POLICE have found drugs and stolen property in a series of raids across Kirklees.

Officers raided homes in the Thornhill, Ravensthorpe and Kirkburton areas and arrested 10 men and women on suspicion.

They are suspected of various offences, including possession of drugs with intent to supply, the cultivation of cannabis and theft or handling of stolen goods.

All 10 were released on police bail pending further inquiries.

Police say a substantial amount of what is thought to be class A drugs was recovered as part of the inquiry, along with a number of cannabis plants, a large quantity of cash and property which is thought to have been stolen.

Inquiries are now going on to try to trace the owners.

The raids happened last Friday, but details have only just emerged.

Insp Ian Gayles from Kirklees North Neighbourhood Policing Teams said: "This operation sends out a clear message that we will track down those we suspect of being involved in the illegal supply of drugs and take positive action against them.

"We will continue to carry out operations like this on a random basis to disrupt the drugs market in Kirklees as much as we can."
