TENANTS have been “let down” over changes to Kirklees Neighbourhood Housing (KNH), according to a tenant spokesman.

Kirklees Council’s Cabinet decided in March to give KNH a new five-year contract to run the 23,000 council homes in the district. But the Labour-run Cabinet has been asked to give councillors and tenants more time to consider the proposal. Shaun Jordan, chairman of Huddersfield South Tenant Committee, said: “The lack of consultation has put the tenant movement in a very difficult position. No-one is saying that KNH aren’t delivering a good service to tenants. We should have been consulted on the full range of options. We feel let down.”
