AN armed gang brought terror to Linthwaite.
The men, one of them armed with a sawn-off shotgun, terrorised people in two homes in Manchester Road early yesterday, but details were released only last night.
Now police are appealing for witnesses and are hunting the men.
Huddersfield CID would like to hear from anyone who has information about the two incidents on Manchester Road.
In the first incident a gang of six men, one of whom was carrying the sawn off shotgun, broke into one property on the road at about 3.50am after throwing a paving slab through a window.
They then made demands of the female occupant for information but left empty handed.
Four minutes later, the men broke into a nearby house and demanded various items from the couple living there.
They then fled with a mobile phone, laptop and wallet.
A man in the house received a minor head injury in the incident but did not need hospital treatment.
The man with the shotgun was described as black, 6ft tall, 18-20-years-old, wearing a black hooded top, and black baggy tracksuit bottoms.
Another of the males was described as black, 5ft 3ins tall, 19-20 years old and of smart appearance wearing a white T-shirt with swirly lettering across the front and black jeans or trousers.
He had a round face, and was muscular with a shaved head and wearing gold rimmed sunglasses.
A third man was described as black, 5ft 4ins tall with a shaved head and wearing a tight black T-shirt and jeans.
The other three men, meanwhile, were described as black males and were possibly wearing hooded tops.
Det Insp Richard Holmes of Huddersfield CID, said: “We believe at this time that the two incidents are connected and are not random attacks.
“I would appeal for anyone who has information to contact Det Con Jason Thorpe of Hudds CID on 01484 436685 or Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555 111.”
