Tesco has confirmed that it has canned plans to build a new store in Huddersfield — what do you think the site should be used for now?

The planned Huddersfield store is one of 49 new Tesco stores that will not get built nationally, as the retail giant pulls out of new store building programmes.

Tesco's chief executive officer Dave Lewis said he knew how important the site was to Huddersfield and plans to work closely with Kirklees Council to find 'the right solution for the local community'.

What would you like to see on the site?

New homes or flats? A retail park? More dining options? Leisure facilities?
