IT’S going to be a real family affair tomorrow.

And Huddersfield Giants rugby league hero Eorl Crabtree couldn’t be more delighted.

His testimonial game against Hull KR at the Galpharm Stadium tomorrow will be attended by thousands of fans.

But it’s those nearest and dearest to the giant England prop forward who will make the day ever so special.

They will be there to help mark Crabtree’s 10 years at his hometown club.

Among those ready to cheer Crabtree from the stands are dozens of family members - including his mascots for the day, nine-year-old daughter Lilly, stepsons Connor (15) and Joe (13) and four-year-old niece Olivia.

The excited quartet will take to the field with Crabtree ahead of the 2.30pm kick-off and walk through a guard of honour made up of players from both teams.

And the former Underbank and Huddersfield YMCA rugby union junior knows the entrance will be the icing on the cake to his year-long testimonial celebrations.

“When the kids suggested they’d like to do this, I immediately thought ‘what a great idea!’,” said Crabtree.

“My family have supported me in my rugby league career from day one, and to walk out with four of the youngest members as my mascots tomorrow is really fitting.

“It’ll make the day extra special.

“To be honest, I hate being the centre of attention, and hopefully my four super mascots will make sure they steal some of the limelight.

“Letting them join me on the field before the game is my way of thanking them and all our family for the support they have given me over the years, because I know how much them being the mascots means to everyone.

“It’s something I hope they remember for ever.”
