MEMBERS of the public, patients and staff commemorated the NHS 60th anniversary by forming the shape of the NHS 60 logo (right).

About 200 people gathered in the grounds of NHS Kirklees headquarters at St Luke’s House, Huddersfield, for the unique photograph to celebrate the health service’s special anniversary this week.

Mike Potts, chief executive of NHS Kirklees, said: “We are extremely grateful to everyone who took part in the photo to mark the 60th anniversary of the NHS.

“It was great to see so many members of the public, staff, patients and people who have participated in courses that have been run by NHS Kirklees, such as the Expert Patients Programme.”

The photocall was just one of the activities that NHS Kirklees is holding to celebrate NHS 60.

There will also be two roadshows taking place in Kirklees – one in the Market Place, Dewsbury, on Wednesday August 6 and one on The Piazza, Huddersfield, on Saturday September 13.

These will include a display of the NHS over the years, information about NHS services and drawings from schoolchildren.
