THEY’VE charmed viewers on TV. Now Linthwaite twins Sebastian and Gabrielle Dowling have made their first charity appearance.

The nine-month-old twins are known to fans of ITV soap Emmerdale as Viv and Bob Hope’s babies, Cathy and Heathcliffe.

They put in their first ever guest appearance for charity on Sunday at a fundraising fair for West Yorkshire Forget Me Not Trust, which aims to build a children’s hospice and respite centre in Huddersfield.

The event was hosted by Lillian Armitage at her home in Snapes Fold, Almondbury.

Her friend, Beryl Atkin, is the grandmother of Sebastian and Gabrielle and asked if they would attend.

The twins, who first appeared in Emmerdale in February, were at the event with mum Louise, 36. She and husband Tim, 47, also have a three-year-old son, Oliver.

Louise said the family were supporters of the West Yorkshire Forget Me Not Trust.

“It is the first time they have made an appearance at a charity event.

“With it being for a charity that will be helping children we thought it would be nice for them to be here.”

As well as the twins, the fair had other attractions including stalls, a tombola, raffle, games and refreshments.

Mrs Armitage said she held the event at the request of her friend Noreen Rochford, who is a member of the Friends’ Support Group that raises funds for the West Yorkshire Forget Me Not Trust.

She said: “We’ve had a small committee to help organise it and so many people have come along or donated goods. We would like to thank everybody for helping out and giving so generously.”
