A HUDDERSFIELD drama company is celebrating its third birthday.

Huddersfield Theatretrain is an organisation which uses drama to train young people aged from six to 18.

It was set up in November 2002 by Halifax actress Nikki Hellens and runs at Almondbury High School every Saturday.

They are celebrating their third birthday by starting rehearsals for their next production, Hood- The Musical.

This musical about the life of famous outlaw Robin Hood will run at the Lawrence Batley Theatre in Huddersfield from June 24 next year.

The Huddersfield group is one of 75 Theatretrain schools across the UK, which train young people to take part in stage productions all over the country.

It's famous patrons include actor Sir Derek Jacobi and comedian Catherine Tate, known for teenage character Lauren and catchphrase "Am I bovvered?".
