PATIENTS will be able to find out more about hospital services thanks to a new website.

Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Trust has created a new-look site, offering information about the trust, its hospitals and services available to patients.

The 300-page website - www.cht.nhs.uk - includes sections on each of the trust's hospitals, Huddersfield Royal Infirmary, St Luke's Hospital at Crosland Moor and Calderdale Royal Hospital, Halifax.

It also provides service listings, patient information and details about working for the trust.

Patients can find online information about getting to hospitals, visiting times and an outpatient and inpatient guide.

Details on the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (Pals) are also included in the site.

Helen Thompson, the trust's head of nursing, said feedback on the site - which was already attracting 195 visitors a day - had been positive so far.

She added: "The site will continue to develop with new information being added each week. "We hope the public and patients will find it easy to use and a useful source of information."

Visitors will also get chance to download the trust's annual report, find the latest news about the trust and dates and minutes of its board meetings.

Links to information about primary care services, as well as non-clinical services within the hospital - such as restaurants, chaplaincy, hospital radio and interpreting services - are also featured within the site.

It is hoped a section dedicated to working for the trust will boost recruitment by highlighting the latest job vacancies, the benefits of the NHS as an employer, the trust's childcare support services and volunteering.

Visitors to the site are invited to give their feedback by clicking on the quick link on the site's homepage.
