A PENSIONER had her purse stolen in a town centre store - from a handbag that was zipped and fastened with a flap.

The 77-year-old Meltham woman was browsing in Superdrug yesterday at about 2.30pm on the Piazza when the incident happened.

Det Con Russ Conlon, of Huddersfield Police, said people should be wary.

He said: "We want people to be aware that they have to be vigilant about who is around them, even if their bags are secured."
