THIEVES have committed a “fowl” crime at Grange Moor.
They have stolen a special duck-house, built for a new garden centre.
The 5ft x 5ft house was meant to be erected on stilts in a pond behind the Rockwood Garden Centre in Wakefield Road, but was stolen early yesterday.
Centre owner Paul Glover said: “We had the house made to order for the ducks and geese to keep them safe from foxes.
“It took four men to lift it into place at the side of the pond ready to be put into place but now it has gone.
“It must have taken a number of people and a wagon or van to shift it.”
Police are investigating.
