A GROUP which offers leaders of Kirklees charities the chance to share ideas and skills has launched a new website.

Last year more than 40 organisations joined Third Sector Leaders Kirklees and became actively involved in shaping the voluntary sector, to increase their influence on public sector decision makers.

Members meet once every two months to assess ongoing progress, and to bring new issues to discussion.

Reflecting on the past year’s achievements chairman Tom Taylor said: “We’ve come a long way over the last 12 months – meetings are well attended, members are learning from each other and both Kirklees Council and NHS Kirklees have engaged positively with the group.

“Moving forward, we want our group to become even more diverse so we can fully represent the varied and wide-ranging needs of the Kirklees voluntary and community sector.”

Now due to its ongoing commitment, the group has launched a new website.

Groups already involved include Kirklees Citizens’ Advice Bureau, The National Children’s Centre, Kirklees Active Leisure, and Voluntary Action Kirklees.

The group is a celebrating the launch of its new website www.thirdsectorleaderskirklees.org. Physical copies are available from Voluntary Action Kirklees or the link is on Twitter, using the tag @tslkirklees.
