Three people alleged to be involved in a serious incident at New Hey Road, Salendine Nook on Tuesday night appeared in court today (Thurs).
Lewis Tynan, 23, Megan Atkinson, 22, and Gary Evans, 34, all from Liverpool are charged with possession of a prohibited weapon for sale or transfer – a 9mm Makarov self-loading pistol, possession of ammunition, namely, 16 x 9 Makarov bulleted cartridges for sale or transfer and possession with intent to supply cannabis.
The trio were produced in the dock from custody and no application for bail was made by their legal representatives during the brief hearing at Kirklees Magistrates’ Court.
Carl Kingsley, representing Tynan, said: “There is an ongoing investigation. Eight people have been arrested.”
The three defendants were remanded in custody and will appear by video link at Leeds Crown Court on June 9.
