THREE top dancers have been named the best in the country.
Lucie Horsfall, of Fenay Bridge, won the Miss Dance of Great Britain title and Amelia Fielding, of Linthwaite, came third in the same contest.
Ten-year-old Leah Darby has won the international junior ballet contest.
All three competed in the prestigious dance contest in Blackpool and are members of the Adele Taylor School of Dance in Huddersfield.
Lucie, 16, has just left Almondbury High School and has been dancing from the age of three. She also danced and won in the All England Dance finals in London. She was awarded scholarships at three of the best colleges in Britain – Laine Theatre School, Doreen Bird Academy and Performers College.
Lucie had chosen to go to Laine Academy in September.
Amelia, 16, is a pupil at Colne Valley High School and was awarded a sash and cash prize. Amelia had also won many championships and scholarship and is hoping to attend Greenhead College and then pursue a dancing career.
Both Lucie and Amelia performed a three minute contemporary modern dance routine, competing against 54 UK dancers UK to reach the last six.
Brockholes dancer Leah Darby, a pupil at Wooldale Junior School, competed against eight girls and Wayne Sleep was the adjudicator.
She has been offered a place at The White Lodge School at the Royal Ballet School in London.
Dance tutor Adele Taylor said: “We had the most amazing day and I couldn’t be more proud”.
