THREE men were wounded in an horrific machete attack.

The victims were attacked after a smash on a main Huddersfield road involving up to four cars.

One was left badly damaged after the drama on Manchester Road in Longroyd Bridge which then erupted in terrifying violence.

All three victims were in this car, a red Nissan Micra.

Its windows were smashed and the car looked as if it had collided with another car, street signs or bollards.

Trouble flared at the scene at 10.40pm on Sunday and police believe two gangs were involved in the frightening fracas.

All three injured men were taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary for treatment and one was later transferred to Leeds General Infirmary. Their wounds are not said to be life-threatening, although it is believed one of the victims was hit on the head with the machete.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “We are still investigating this incident at the moment, but we believe it was a targeted attack and understand the Micra was rammed as opposed to being involved in random accident.

“Three men were treated for stab wounds in hospital after a collision in the Longroyd Bridge area.

“We are asking for anyone who witnessed this incident or anyone with information to come forward.”

The Micra driver was taken to Leeds General Infirmary for treatment for multiple stab wounds.

Two other men in the car with him were also injured by the machete.

Police believe people in the other three cars were involved in the stabbings.

Witnesses say a group of Asian men were seen at the scene.

No-one has been arrested so far.
