POLICE have appealed for information after a trio of armed men stormed a bookmakers in Bradford and escaped with a sum of cash.

The three men, who had their faces covered, were each carrying what is believed to be a handgun when they entered Ladbrokes on Great Horton Road on Sunday at 4.30pm.

They demanded cash from staff and made off on foot with the money towards the Tesco store on Great Horton Road, where it is thought a getaway car was waiting for them, West Yorkshire Police said.

The suspects are all described as Asian males, aged between 17 and 18-years-old, 5ft 6” to 5ft 8” tall, of thin build and wearing all-black clothing.

Detective Inspector Steve Snow of Bradford South CID said: “At the time of the incident there were two women working in the betting shop who were left shocked and upset, but fortunately uninjured.

“The Tesco’s store had just closed, however we would appeal to anybody that was still in the vicinity of the store or the car park who may have seen three Asian males acting suspiciously or running towards a vehicle to contact us.”
