HOUSING workers in Kirklees raised almost £2,000 to help cancer sufferers.

Eight walkers from Kirklees Neighbourhood Housing and other organisations tackled the Yorkshire Three Peaks Walk to raise £1,891 for Macmillan Cancer Relief.

They were joined by Chris Wilcock, Karen Wade and Debbie Bennett from Kirklees Council's health services department.

KNH workers Maurine Capewell and Louise Sadler acted as support team.

The YorkshireThree Peaks involves trekking to the summits of three peaks in Ribblesdale - Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough. The team managed to complete the 25-mile walk in 12 hours.
