THREE men accused of importing over £8m worth of class A drugs into the country have by remanded in custody at Bradford Magistrates' Court.

The arrests were made earlier this month after a lorry was stopped by Customs and Excise in Dover last October.

Officers found large quantities of heroin and cocaine inside with an estimated street value of over £8m.

In court were 37-year- old Russell Crisp, of Highgate Road, Clayton Heights, Bradford; Carl Martin, 28, of Clervaux Court, Clayton, Bradford and Ian Kirton, 41, of Kitson Hill Road, Kitson Hill, Mirfield.

All three are charged with conspiracy to import heroin and conspiracy to import cocaine.

Bail was refused for each defendant. They will next appear at Bradford Crown Court on January 20.
