A YOUNG woman was shoved to the ground by thieves who stole her handbag.

The 22-year-old had got off a bus in Paddock and was walking on Quarmby Road in Quarmby at 9.40pm last nigh when she realised four men were behind her.

One ran up and shoved her in the back, causing her to fall into some bushes.

She tried to get up, but another of the thugs grabbed her hair, turned her head round and demanded her handbag.

She handed it over and the four escaped on Longwood Road towards Paddock with the small red handbag.

The main attacker is white, aged about 17, slim and 5ft 7in tall.

He has dark brown hair.

He wore cream-coloured tracksuit bottoms and a blue jacket with three white stripes down the sleeves. He also wore a white baseball cap.

The other three attackers are all white and wore dark jeans. One wore a dark top.

Det Con Russ Conlon, of Kirklees CID intelligence unit, said: “This was a nasty attack on a lone woman. We would urge anyone who knows who these four are to contact us immediately.’’
