A 14-YEAR-OLD boy was thumped in the face by an older youth who tried to snatch his mobile phone.

The young victim was at Ravenshouse Road, Scout Hill, in Dewsbury at 8pm on Thursday when he was confronted by two teenagers.

When he refused to hand over his phone one teenager hit him in the face.

The boy fled, but was rugby-tackled by the robber.

He managed to wriggle free and sprinted to a nearby pub to raise the alarm.

The main attacker is aged 5ft 3ins and slim. He wore a red and white Nike Airmax coat.

His accomplice is stocky.

Both were aged 16 or 17 with short dark hair.

He wore a black coat, black jogging bottoms and dark shoes.
