SIGHTINGS of wanted sex offender Peter McDonagh have been reported in Manchester, Carlisle and Aberdeen.

West Yorkshire Police have also had more than 50 calls since appealing for information about the whereabouts of the 44-year-old, who went missing from a West Yorkshire hostel on February 11.

But Det Supt Paul Taylor said: "Unfortunately we have had no major developments.

"Enquiries are ongoing to trace Mr McDonagh, and I would encourage the public to be vigilant and report any sightings of him."

McDonagh is considered a danger to the public, in particular to women and possibly a danger to himself.

South Yorkshire Police also revealed he is wanted in connection with the murder of prostitute Michaela Hague, who was stabbed to death in Sheffield on November 5, 2001.

Anyone with information should call the incident room on 01274 37 37 37 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
