CHARITY cash was stolen in the first of two identical raids on flats above pubs on the outskirts of Huddersfield.
Thieves took a substantial amount of money intended for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance after breaking into the property above the Swan Inn on New Hey Road in Outlane.
They also stole a purse, bank card, cheque book, iPod and a games console in the incident, between 7.30pm and 11.30pm on Monday.
It is believed the intruders used the roof of the extension to climb into the property.
Between 10.15pm and 10.30pm on the same night a flat above The Royal George, on New Hey Road in Scammonden was targeted.
It is believed the intruders used exactly the same tactic to get into the flat, but were disturbed and fled.
Pc Lyndsey Nelson, at Huddersfield CID, said: "There are clear similarities between both of these incidents which have occurred in quite secluded locations. I would urge others in the area to consider the security of their property and report any suspicious activity immediately to the police."
