A MAN was foiled in his bid to hold-up a post office - then fled on a bicycle.

The young man walked into Marsden Post Office on Manchester Road at 3.10pm yesterday.

He was holding an object covered by a bag and demanded money.

But the postmaster refused to hand anything over and the would-be thief fled.

He was seen riding away on a black bike.

He is white, aged 18 to 20 and wore black clothes, along with a black hat or cap.

His face was covered with black material.
