VOTERS in two constituencies will get the chance to question General Election candidates when they appear on the platform together.

The debate will involve party hopefuls in Dewsbury and Batley and Spen.

The event, organised by pressure group Vital 4, takes place at Heckmondwike Grammar School on Tuesday, April 12 at 6.30pm.

Conservative candidates Sayeeda Hussain (Dewsbury) and Robert Light (Batley and Spen) have confirmed they will attend.

Also there will be Liberal Democrats Kingsley Hill Dewsbury) and Neil Bentley (Batley and Spen), along with BNP candidates David Exley (Dewsbury) and Colin Auty (Batley and Spen).

Labour's Shahid Malik (Dewsbury) has not confirmed, while Batley and Spen Labour MP Mike Wood has turned down his invitation.

Vital 4 said it wanted voters to submit questions in advance.

Organiser Naeem Hashmi said: "Local people will have a chance to put questions to their Parliamentary candidates in a rational environment that will not favour any party."

If you would like to put a question to the candidates email ppc@vital4.org.uk or telephone Naeem Hashmi on 07817884859.
