NEW summer and autumn rail timetables for trains services across West Yorkshire came into effect yesterday.

The new times include alterations to services through Halifax on the Caldervale line.

Halifax station is currently having its canopy and footbridge refurbished.

Work means that trains will be diverted away from the station and replacement bus services will be provided to and from Halifax on weekends until July 12.

These will also be in operation on July 25 and 26 and August 8 and 9.

Rail services between Huddersfield, Brighouse, Halifax and Bradford will be affected.

A rail replacement bus service will operate between the usual stations, although there are more direct bus services available between Huddersfield and Bradford and Huddersfield and Halifax.

Buses will also replace rail services from Halifax along the Calder Valley towards Todmorden.

The Settle-Carlisle line will close north of Settle for track work for two weeks from Friday, July 10 to Monday, July 27.
