A COUPLE have been accused of causing the death of a Huddersfield toddler.

The pair both appeared before Huddersfield magistrates yesterday for a brief hearing. The case follows the death of two-year-old Corinthian Kemp.

He died of complications allegedly caused by a brain injury he suffered two years earlier. The alleged assault happened at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary when he was five days old.

Corinthian’s father Thomas Corcoran, 21, of Croft Gardens, Birkby, and mother Caroline Kemp, 21, of Erringden Road, Mytholmroyd, are charged with causing or allowing the death of a child. Corcoran was bailed and Kemp remanded in custody to appear at Bradford Crown Court, on July 7. The couple are expected to be committed for trial.
