VISITORS at Huddersfield's Tolson Museum have been developing their textile talents.

Yesterday, textile artist Maureen Green held a rag-rug workshop at the museum, on Wakefield Road in Moldgreen.

Maureen, who used to be an attendant at the museum, helped her students create a wall hanging inspired by the building's collection of interesting rocks and minerals.

This was the second in a series of workshops that began in May.

Through the events, Maureen - who took up rag-rugging seven years ago - aims to show that the traditional art can create beautiful art and accessories.

Her final workshop will be at the museum on September 25, when she will help people create cushions and wall hangings inspired by autumn.

Materials will be provided and each workshop is from 10am to 4pm. The cost is £25, including lunch. To book, call the museum on 01484 223830.
