A TOP council official has been made redundant.

Calderdale Council’s director of corporate services Catherine Parkinson left her post this week after 10 years.

The move is part of a re-organisation of Calderdale’s senior managers which came into force on Thursday.

Council leader Clr Stephen Baines said: “It has been nine years since the council reviewed the structure of the organisation and the role of senior management.

“The expectations of people have changed and the council has reconsidered how it contributes to the prosperity of Calderdale.”
