CUTE cat Bobby is heading for stardom.
He has been judged the perfect puss to appear on a new range of pet food made by the Co-operative group.
Bobby, who lives in Holmfirth with owner Cheryl Marshall, has been chosen as the face of a new range of pet food which the Co-op is developing.
The own-brand pet food will be totally free from artificial colours and flavours as part of the Co-op’s Good With Food scheme. The idea is to give pets a healthier, more natural diet.
The company’s Manchester head office buying team were given the job of choosing a suitable pet to appear on the packaging.
They carried out a lengthy ‘casting’ process of cats and dogs belonging to team members.
Cheryl is a labelling technologist with the team. She said Bobby’s favourite activity is eating, followed by sleeping, although it seems he is a natural poser too!
She said: “Bobby loves to sleep on a sheepskin rug he got at the photo shoot. He would not let the photographer get it from underneath him.”
Dry food in the new range has already been launched in Co-op stores, featuring Bobby’s picture.
Food pouches and treats are expected to hit the shelves soon.
