A CONVICTED killer faces an anxious wait to find out if his conviction is to be quashed or if he must serve the rest of an 18-year jail sentence.

Nazar Hussain has challenged his term after being found guilty of his part in an arson attack which killed eight members of a Birkby family.

Senior judges who heard his appeal at London’s Court of Appeal have reserved their decision and will reveal it at a later date.

The two-day hearing was told that Hussain, of Crosland Moor, was found guilty of eight counts of manslaughter at Leeds Crown Court in 2003.
