A HUDDERSFIELD school is going places, its head said at a prizegiving ceremony.

Robert Lamb said he was immensely proud of King James's School, Almondbury.

He told his audience at Huddersfield Town Hall: "Our reputation is soaring and we are becoming more and more popular.

"The number of students is higher than ever and the number of applicants for admission far exceeds the number of places available.

"King James's is a school that is really going places. We are determined to make it the best school in Kirklees."
