TWO members of West Yorkshire Police have been singled out to put intelligence analysis on the crime fighting map.

Dewsbury-based Inspector Howard Atkin and senior analyst Mark Bray, who works in Leeds, became the first two people in Europe accredited to deliver a new cutting-edge specialist training course in intelligence analysis.

The course, Foundations of Intelligence Analysis Training, is a week-long training session designed for beginners in intelligence and analysis.

It was created by a consortium of police forces from 45 countries across the world.

Insp Atkin said: "The course is also very relevant for people such as researchers, police officers and managers."
