DANCING Huddersfield girl Sian Smith has won a top prize.
The 13-year-old from Bradley took gold at the International Dance Teachers Association’s annual competition in County Durham.
Sian, who attends York Dance Studio in Milnsbridge, beat 14 other competitors to win the classical sequence class for girls aged 13 to 15.
Proud mum Karena Skinner watched her win at Newton Aycliffe on Sunday.
She said: “I’m absolutely amazed. In my wildest dreams I didn’t expect her to win because she was up against older girls.”
