TOP rocker Bryan Adams is heading to Huddersfield this summer.
And his return to the stage on June 1 at what is now the Galpharm Stadium will be a treat for thousands of rock fans.
The Canadian superstar delighted a huge, sell-out crowd when he appeared at the then McAlpine Stadium in 1996.
Now, 10 years on, he is still regarded as one of the world's top live acts and has a career which has spanned more than 25 years.
Adams, best known for his distinctive voice and blue-collar songwriting sensibilities, broke into the music business in 1980.
His self-titled debut album was well-received, as was his second.
But the release of the third album, Cuts Like a Knife, struck a real chord with fans and a superstar was born.
That album went platinum and was quickly followed by Reckless, which sold an astonishing 8million worldwide.
It spawned the hit single Run to You plus other Top 20 singles.
But it was probably (Everything I Do) I Do It For You which became the song best associated with Adams.
Released in 1991, it topped the US charts for seven weeks and was No 1 for an amazing 16 weeks in the UK, the longest-ever running chart-topper.
Adams celebrated 25 years in the rock business with Anthology, a collection of 36 tracks spanning his entire career.
And that collection will certainly feature strongly when he hits the Galpharm stage on a June night.
