MONTHS of hard work have paid off for young Huddersfield dancers.
Two teams from the Peter York Dance Studios in Milnsbridge won first places in a junior freestyle and rock and roll competition which attracts teams from across the North-East.
Under-14s team Delicious were first of eight teams, with Explosion in second place.
Under-18s team Expression took first place in their class, with Impact coming third out of 11 teams.
The competition was held at Bridlington Spa and organised by the International Dance Teachers' Association.
The dancers are trained by Amanda Revitt, of Longwood, who works as a primary school teacher in Rochdale but has a passion for dance.
"The routines are complex, challenging and usually contain up to 10 different formations within the time allowed," she said.
"The team members work very hard and are dedicated, but also have lots of fun," she added.
The teams practise for 35 minutes every week and have practised their winning routines for the last eight months.
The Milnsbridge studios also achieved successes in the freestyle solo, freestyle couples and rock n roll events.
Cousins Sam Mullins, nine, the studio's only boy dancer, and Olivia Denton, 13, both won their own age category in the freestyle solo section.
Other successes in the nine and under solo event were Katie Hutson, who was second, and third-placed Natalie Dean.
Amy Barker and Abigail Chapman came second in the nine and under couples class
Meanwhile, Natalie Kaye and Sarah Hutson were third in the 13 and under couples class.
The two girls also came third in the 13 and under rock and roll category.
