RUNNERS following in the footsteps of the Olympic Torch passed through Huddersfield at the weekend.

A huge relay is being carried out across Britain to run the torch’s entire journey for 24 hours a day.

The Real Relay has broken down the route into sections of between 10 to 12 miles.

Local runners around the country have signed up to take turns to run a stretch of the journey.

They are raising money for disadvantaged children’s charity Chicks.

The relay passed through Marsh on Sunday at 5.50am, run by Clare Brear, of Sowerby Bridge.
