A mini tornado damaged around 30 homes in a Lancashire village last night. The tornado swept through Hoghton, near Blackburn, shortly after 7pm. Garage roofs were ripped off, trees were felled and chimneys collapsed. Power lines were also damaged, but no one was hurt in the "freak weather conditions", according to Lancashire police. Loreen Fawcett, who lives in Hoghton, said: "It was like a war zone. It was unbelievable."
