A TWO-year-old girl left her grandma panic-stricken after locking herself in a car.

The mischievous youngster activated the central locking just after the woman got out of the car on Saddleworth Road in Greetland at 9.45am yesterday.

Unfortunately the keys were still inside on the seat so she was locked in.

The horrified grandma alerted Elland firefighters who went to help.

Watch manager Kelvin Steele said: "The child had been stuck in the car for about 20 minutes, but seemed happy enough. Fortunately we didn't have to break in to save her.

"We managed to talk her into pressing the right button on the key fob and the doors unlocked."
